The Failure of Communication
2016
bronze
3.5 x3 x 2.5" each
In the context of relationships, communication is obscured by the use of technology that encourages speed over brevity. The subtleties of emotion are expressed with emoticons rather than poetry. What is really meant is often lost to the inconvenience of speaking face to face.

This series uses the form of my mouth, cast as I was making different word sounds. The meaning of ubiquitous phrases shifts or is obscured as the arrangements are altered. Profanity cuts to the heart of expression, tainting language in often contradictory ways.
The placement on a shelf suggest the possibility of rearrangement. This is part of an on going series, eventually including many more elements. These are cast in Bronze.
