Boundaries Project: Lot 77, Town of Dryden
Archival inkjet print
13.5 x 20"
This is a digital photograph documenting my temporary action along an old Military Tract boundary line. In this ongoing series I examine the way humans have defined the landscape with boundaries that defy natural organization. These artificial lines, which originated in the division of the Iroquois lands to compensate Revolutionary War soldiers, influence both positive and negative human interactions and can be a key to our understanding of place.
