Documenation of a 1500 foot line of stones set in the mudflats of Summer Lake, Oregon. This was done while I was an artist-in- residence at Playa, in eastern Oregon's high desert. Unable to use my right hand due to injury, I used the mudflats of the basin lake as my canvas and worked with stones and my feet to create this line in an attempt to orient myself to the wide open terrain. I worked at night when the mud was frozen and alligned the stones to the north star with a builders laser. The resulting images intentionally confuse your perception of space, mirroring the experience of being being surrounded by a treeless horizon.
