Tompkins County Civil War Nurses Memorial
Powder-coated steel, solar lanerns, concrete, informational sign.
7 x 15 x 45 ft overall
This commissioned work is a memorial honoring New York State Nurses who courageously served in the Civil War, often anonymous and unrecognized, on and off the battlefields of the Civil War. It consists of four powder-coated steel silhouetted Civil War nurse figures, each slightly larger than life, walking across an open field. Each holds a functional lantern which lights up at night.

Installed on Tompkins Cortland Community College campus, Dryden, NY, in 2016.
